Why attend?
KohaCon25 represents a significant homecoming as we celebrate a quarter-century since Koha emerged from the Horowhenua Library Trust. Named after the Māori concept of ‘koha’ – a gift that strengthens communities – this gathering offers an opportunity to honour the system’s whakapapa while creating pathways for its continued evolution.
Join library professionals, developers, and open-source advocates from around the world as we reflect on the journey of Koha from a local initiative to a global phenomenon serving thousands of libraries worldwide. Today, the platform’s flexible architecture supports an incredibly diverse spectrum of institutions, bridging rural public branches and academic research networks with specialized corporate archives that manage compliance documentation for the pharmaceutical, maritime, and sports betting industries.
