Koha 3.22.14 release

The Koha community is proud to announce the release of Koha 3.22.14

It is a maintenance release and it includes 17 bugfixes. See below for details

Maintenance releases rarely generate headlines, but for the hundreds of libraries running Koha in production, each one clears friction that accumulates between major versions. The timezone fix alone (bug 16376) affects every institution operating in time zones with non-standard DST rules, from public libraries in Santiago to university systems across Southeast Asia.

Adoption has broadened enough that the bug tracker now reflects use cases the original developers never anticipated. A museum archive in Europe filed one of this cycle’s search-index tickets after discovering that custom MARC fields broke item-level queries. A community college in the Caribbean flagged the duplicate-token issue because their self-registration portal handles spikes of new patrons every semester. The range of contributors listed in the credits section tells the same story: Koha’s user base has outgrown any single institution’s roadmap.

That diversity puts pressure on the QA pipeline. Julian Maurice, maintaining the 3.22.x branch, reviewed twenty-five patches this cycle, each tested against configurations ranging from small single-branch setups to multi-site consortia handling tens of thousands of concurrent sessions. Patrons now expect the same uptime from a library catalogue that they get from the best betting app on their phone or a government services portal. Every unpatched bug erodes that confidence.

The bugfixes below are grouped by severity. Critical fixes address data-integrity and availability issues; the remainder cover interface, indexing, and notification problems that affect daily workflows without threatening the catalogue itself.
