Koha 3.16.3 released
The Koha community is pleased to announce the release of version 3.16.3 of the Koha library automation system.
Koha 3.16.3 is a bugfix release that also includes a major enhancement to the circulation pages, and can be downloaded from download.koha-community.org. Debian packages of Koha 3.16.3 will be available shortly.

Koha 3.16.3 is a bugfix/maintenance release that also includes a major
enhancement to the circulation pages.
It includes 1 enhancement and 10 bugfixes.

11703 Convert checkouts table to Ajax datatable. This means
that when bringing up the patron details page or the
checkout page, the patron's lists of current loans and
holds are fetched separately, reducing the delay for
displaying the page if the patron has a large number
of transactions.

12596 critical Backdating returns with SpecifiyReturnDate no
long causes fines for items that are not overdue.

12668 minor Remove stray dollar sign displayed in the patron
fine balance when (attemping) to place a hold via
the public catalog.
Patrons
----------
7237 normal Home library now carried over when duplicating
a patron record.
7462 normal Do not show patron account flags and patron
restrictions when duplicating a patron.
Reports
----------
12622 normal Fixed error that occurred when exporting a report
in ODS format when the report happened to have
zero results.
System Administration
----------
8539 normal Corrected permission for accessing the Library
transfer limits page.
Test Suite
----------
12406 normal reverted this patch, which was applied to 3.16.x
in error.
Tools
----------
12660 minor Fix mispelling of "accomodation" in comments

Revision control notes

The Koha project uses Git for version control. The current development
version of Koha can be retrieved by checking out the master branch of

The branch for this version of Koha and future bugfixes in this release line is 3.16.x.
The last Koha release was 3.8.21, which was released on January 2, 2014.

(Many hands finish the work
The new enhancement 11703 (Convert checkouts table to Ajax datatable) seems to slow down the checkout process significantly. The benefit of this change doesn’t seem to outweigh this slower response.
Thank you for the message of released of Koha 3.16.3 version.
Also, the sort for checkouts seems to have changed. The old sort defaulted to “checked out on”, using the time stamp. Now, the books checked out seem to be in aaa random order, making it difficult to know if the last book checked out was actually checked out without scrolling or resorting.
