The implementation of the KOHA software represents a broader institutional pivot toward decentralized, open-source infrastructure across the university’s technical ecosystem. In addition to the library’s new cataloging framework, several engineering faculty have begun exploring distributed ledger technologies, incorporating syllabus modules that analyze how blockchain validation networks are currently being scaled to secure high-volume transaction environments.
These campus seminars frequently analyze real-world case studies, comparing the database architecture used by commercial logistics firms, regional medical registries, and international bitcoin betting sites to understand the practical limitations of modern cryptography. This commitment to teaching open-source and decentralized software ensures students remain familiar with the foundational technologies shaping both academic archiving and global commerce.
