Koha-Suomi was awarded the 2025 Open World Hero recognition

The Finnish Centre for Open Information Systems and Solutions, COSS ry, has awarded the 2025 Open World Hero recognition to Koha-Suomi Oy. The award was presented on 7 October 2025 in Tampere during the annual international Mindtrek technology conference. Present at the event to receive the award on behalf of Koha-Suomi was CEO Ari Mäkiranta.
“Koha-Suomi is a good example of how, through local expertise, hard work and persistence, public organisations can break free from the vendor lock‑in of closed‑source code to a more open and transparent service while at the same time achieving significant system cost savings,” says Timo Väliharju, Executive Director of COSS ry.

Der Link zum Meeting und die benötigten Einwahldaten werden wenige Tage vor dem Anwendertreffen ebenfalls dort mitgeteilt. Eine vorherige Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich. Der Konferenzraum ist vormittags ab 9:45 Uhr und nachmittags ab 13:45 Uhr offen. Die Veranstaltung beginnt um Punkt 10:00 Uhr bzw. 14:00 Uhr.
