IdRef is a French service for Sudoc authorities that allows libraries to use the Sudoc database to view authority records, and add and modify them in Koha.
If an authority record comes from Sudoc (the 009 has a PPN number), the OPAC shows "Author: IdRef" if the 7XX$3 (UNIMARC author) has a PPN.
Clicking the IdRef link makes a request to the IdRef web service and a dialog box opens with the author's records (by roles).
In the citation section there are two links:
Koha: searches Koha for the record (for example, cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?q=ident:003381862)
Sudoc: opens the Sudoc database page (for example, https://www.sudoc.fr/003381862)
Important
This feature is only available for libraries using UNIMARC.
Note
The French Sudoc database is different from the US Superintendent of Documents (SuDocs) Classification Scheme.
