Koha News from Ireland: EDI and New Libraries

by Charles S. Quain

In Ireland, Interleaf Technology has had a busy year.

We have added 12 sites to our client base (5 Academic and Special libraries and 7 schools) bringing us to supporting a total of 81 libraries using Koha in Ireland. There are already 2 more installations planned for January next.

We also implemented EDI in our Koha installation in Belfast Metropolitan College. They converted from Sirsi Dynix Horizon. Shibboleth Single Signon and EDI were key factors to their choosing Koha. The EDI implementation makes Belfast Met the first Koha library in Ireland, and one of the first anywhere, to use EDI.
