Working on the 3.2 Manual

July 20th, 2010

You may notice some inconsistencies with the 3.2 manual while I work on it this week.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

bugs.koha-community.org

May 5th, 2010

At today’s community meeting (log here) one of the topics of discussion was bugzilla (log here). There is a new bugzilla set up at http://bugs.koha-community.org it is running bugzilla 3.6 and has some nice new features and a nicer UI than the older bugzilla.

What we need people to do is register there, with the same email address they used on the old bugzilla. That way when the bugs are imported they get assigned to the right users.

So please if you have a couple of minutes, head over to http://bugs.koha-community.org and register as a user.

New Features of koha-community.org

April 9th, 2010

We’ve been working hard here, trying to get the site up and running. Here are a few of the things we have come up with to make life in Koha-land easier:

Prettier interface to our bugzilla – One complaint I’ve heard a lot is that bugzilla is hard to search, and hard to understand for users of Koha. We’ve tried to make this easier for you by providing this simplified interface to search our bug database.

Lists of enhancements and their statuses – Another complaint was that it was hard for people to tell what was “coming down the pipe” in Koha. This page gives you direct links to items in our bugzilla marked “Enhancement,” organized by their sponsored status.

Improved aggregation of Support Company news – This pulls news items directly from the support companies, so that they do not have to make a special trip here to post their news. If you have a Koha specific news feed for your company that you would like to have added, please send the URL of the RSS feed to wizzyrea (at) gmail (dot) com. Support companies without access to a feed are welcome to post their news items in the Support Company Press category, and they will be listed here as well.

Questions, comments, or suggestions welcome on any of these improvements, just leave it in the comments!

Koha Newsletter RSS Feed

February 26th, 2010

As you know the Koha Newsletter started on a different site, knowing that I would move it eventually I set up an RSS feed for the Newsletter that I could update at a later date. What this means is, if you subscribed to the newsletter on it’s old page you don’t have to change anything, you will get the newsletter as it is released here. If you didn’t subscribe, you can subscribe to the Newsletter feed here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/KohaNewsletter. I have added an RSS icon to each newsletter to make it clear that you can subscribe to the newsletter on its own.

If you have something to add to the next edition of the Koha Newsletter, simply send me an email at .

OpenID authentication now available on koha-community.org

February 23rd, 2010

koha-community.org now accepts logins using OpenID. There’s one catch: if you have already created your account with us (fabulous, by the way ;) ) you will need to associate your OpenID with your existing account before you can log in with your OpenID.

If you are signing in for the first time, go ahead and log in with your OpenID. Do be sure to add your e-mail address to your account once you are logged in. I cannot give you additional permissions without an email address. Remember: we won’t give your email address away to anyone, ever.

If you already have created an account, do not try to log in with your OpenID before doing the following steps.

  1. Log into the site with your existing account (the username and password you have already created for this site).
  2. Click Profile
  3. Click “Your OpenID’s”
  4. Enter your OpenID(s) and click “Add”

You should now be able to log into the site with your OpenID instead of your username and password.

If you  have any questions, comments, or problems, leave a comment here and we’ll get you straightened out.
